First Star ASU

Their focus is to provide training and long-term support for Arizona’s foster youth throughout high school while preparing them for a successful transition to higher education. The First Star - Arizona State University Academy provides intensive programming to ensure students have the necessary skills to complete high school, enroll and ultimately graduate college.

  • Prep for ACT/SAT

Eligibility

  • High school students in foster care with open dependency case with Arizona’s Department of Child Safety or Tribal agency.

  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA or better on a 4.0 scale and a good attendance record.

  • Participation in monthly workshops and two-week summer program.

  • No Cost

Times and Days Program Is Offered

  • 9:00am - 3:00pm

    • One Saturday of each month (Saturday Academy)

  • 9:00am - 12:00pm

    • One Saturday of each month (Community Service)
